The construction work of the Sukkur-Multan Motorway (392 KMS) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has been completed and expected to open for the traffic this month.

The project known Motorway M5 started in September 2016 and was scheduled to be open for traffic in September 2019 whereas it has been completed before the scheduled time. This Motorway M5 is of six lane and speed limit is 120KM/H.

The total cost of this M5 project was around $2.89 Billion. This newly M5 motorway starts from Multan and passes through Peerwala, Ahmed Pur East, Jalalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Sadiqabad, Pano Aqil, Ubaro and ends at Sukkur.
